The
Rotary International 2011-12 Theme is
“Reach within to embrace humanity”.
This fit nicely with what the Rotary Club of Windermere
is doing within our community in West Orange County.
Each year our club has two major fund raisers “Lobster,
Laughter, and Lend a Hand” and the “Festival Among the Lakes”.
If you are a resident of Windermere or the surrounding
area chances are you have attended one or both of these event.
It is from these event that we are able to
provide the support hat we do within the
community to support Habitat for Humanity, the
Edgewood Children’s Ranch, Health Central
Hospital, and four Interact Clubs (West Orange
HS, Olympia HS, Windermere Prep and Foundation
Academy).
In addition to our work within the community we
have also partnered on international projects
including a “bloodmobile” for the Bahamas,
school supplies for children in Guatemala, and
numerous other causes locally and
internationally. We enjoy what we do!
A
special thanks to all the current members for
their support and hard work, which has allowed
our club to achieve the success that it has.
Thank you to all of our local community and
“non-Rotarian” partners without whom we would
not be able to accomplish the things we do.
This year we would
like to invite our friends, neighbors, and
community to come and visit one of our meetings.
We are always looking for individual who
are interested in becoming involved and making a
difference in our community.
If you would like to learn more about Rotary, please be my guest
at our breakfast meeting Tuesday mornings at Windermere Town
Hall at 6:54. I can be reached via
e-mail
in the meantime.
Sincerely,
Brad Busbin,
President
